Daniel Scheppke – CADG, Beijing
Daniel is from Salem, Oregon. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Land and Food Systems from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. At UBC, Daniel studied urban food systems, and spent time working in southern Mexico for an organization that provides resources for farmworkers. After graduating from UBC, Daniel taught – first as a soil science teacher in Oregon, and then as an English teacher in Madrid. Currently, Daniel is a first year Master of Urban and Regional Planning candidate at Portland State University studying transportation planning. Daniel is interested in active transportation, and its relationship to public health and public spaces. He is excited to work in Beijing to learn about urban planning in the context of China’s rapidly changing urban environment.
